14 MONTHS

On 8/16/12 Cooper turned 14 months old! He is walking all over the place these days and is in to everything! We definitely need to invest in some more baby gates.  Of course everywhere he's not supposed to go is where he wants to go constantly!  He has teeth coming in everywhere! He has 14 total.  All four molars and 4 on top and 6 on the bottom.  I think with all his teething it has affected his sleep.  All last week he would wake up screaming around 3am and just wanted to be held.  I had forgotten what it felt like to have to get up in the middle of the night and it was not fun! :)  He has become a good little eater.  He still loves his fruits and veggies, and of course his yogurt.  He has started eating meat really well too.  I'm so glad he eats better, I worried about that for so long so its a relief to see him enjoying dinner time.  Although now our problem is food throwing but we're working on that :)  His ears and nose seem to be better since having his adenoids removed.  They have ran some but nothing like it was before, so hopefully it has helped.  We go back next week for his follow up so we'll see.  His new favorite word is "light".  Everytime you tun a light on or he sees a light he points and says it.  He's also on a "uh oh" kick.  Everything whether he did it accidently or on purpose (which is most of the time) is an "uh oh".  Its too cute!  I still can't believe how fast he is growing up!  Our next goal is going to be weaning from the passy.  This is going to be so much harder than weaning from the bottle.  The bottle I just took away when he was a year old no exceptions.  The passy on the other hand is going to be challenging because he is addicted!

 14 months old!

I finally got the passy away from him so I could get some pictures without it :)

On Friday we went to Badger Fest in Arkadelphia.  Eric's little sister is a jazzler this year so we went to watch her dance.  They did really good and Cooper had fun listening to the band.

They were giving out these clappers so of course Coop had to have one.  It was cute at the game, but not so much when he plays with it at the house. LOL!

On Wednesday this past week marked mine and Eric's 3rd wedding anniversary.  We really haven't done much for our anniversaries in the past.  The first year we went to deer camp.  Yeah, real romantic huh? :)  Last year, Cooper was only 2 months old so we couldn't do much.  We all 3 went to Hot Springs for the day and did a little shopping. While we were in Home Goods, Cooper had a MAJOR blowout in his diaper to the point where we had to buy him something else to wear because I forgot a change of clothes.  Then we decided to go out to eat, which ended up in us leaving early because Cooper was crying so hard in the restaurant having one of his meltdowns.  Looking back, its funny, but at the time, it felt like a catastrophy!  So, this year, I told him all I wanted was for us to go out to eat and have a nice dinner just the two of us.  So, Nonee watched Cooper while we went to Hot Springs.  We ate at Belle Arti downtown and it was really nice.  Afterwards we decided to play a little putt putt golf.  And I ALMOST beat him :)  I did have 2 hole in one's :)  So, needless to say we had a much needed fun night.

Happy 3 years!

Our week

This past week has been really tough.  My sweet Mamaw Powell passed away on Sunday.  Words cannot express the heartache I've felt this week.  I know she is in a better place, but I am sure going to miss her.  I would have loved to have more time with her here, but I'm also very thankful for all the wonderful memories I have of her. I couldn't have asked for a better Mamaw!  I loved her so very much!

On my wedding day!  She looked so beautiful!

I thank God that she was able to meet Cooper.  She was there the day he was born.

Precious!

Sweet hugs

I love this picture! She had the sweetest smile in the world! I'm so glad she got to see Cooper on his first birthday.

As sad as I am that she's not here with us anymore, I know that she and my Papaw are living it up in heaven right now, so that makes me happy thinking about that.

Today was a big day!  For months, my sister in law and I have been training to do the Hottest Half race in Dallas.  Well, I can now officially say I have ran a half marathon (13.1 miles!).  Never in a million years would I have thought I could do something like that but I did it!  My goal was to run the entire thing and I did! We did it in 2 hours and 25 minutes.  Believe me, there were times we both wanted to stop, but we motivated each other and kept on going.  I'm so glad I was able to run my first 1/2 with one of my best friends! Its an experience I will never forget :)

Before the race!

We were almost at the finish line here.  Can you tell we were ready to cross it! HA!

We did it!!

Camp Meeting 2012

Last weekend was the beginning of Camp Meeting at Davidson Campground.  But before we headed there, mister Cooper has his adenoids removed last Thursday.  His ears just continued to drain even after getting tubes, so this was the next step. Everything went great!  He was a little trooper.  The doctor said there is a 85% chance this will fix all his problems, so we are praying the odds are in our favor!  Here is my little man after surgery.  He did so good!

Cooper was feeling great so on Sunday we headed out to Davidson Campground.  If you don't know much about this, its a really special thing in Arkadelphia. This year was its 128th anniversary. Its hard to explain if you have never been, but basically it a week long church revival/camp where you actually move out and stay in cabins for the entire week. I'm not sure of the exact count this year but usually there is anywhere from 500 to over 1000 people that attend. Like I said its very hard to explain and appreciate unless you either grew up out there ( which Eric did) or you were married into the tradition ( that's me), but its one of those places that will steal your heart if you ever attend.
