8 months and more!

Last Thursday was a big day!  Not only did my little man turn 8 months old, but he also had tubes put in his ears that morning at National Park Medical Center.  Everything went very smoothly.  The staff at the hospital was great! And Cooper did wonderful.  He was a trooper :)

This weekend we took a little trip to Shreveport with Nonee, Papaw, and Aunt Kay Kay.  Eric got some coupons in the mail for a 2 night stay at the Eldorado with $100 credit to their spa and $100 credit to their nice steak restaurant in the casino, so it was hard to pass that up.  Friday night, Eric and I had our dinner date at the restaurant, so Papaw, Nonee, and Aunt Kay Kay babysat Cooper.  It was wonderful!!  It was great to have a nice meal by candle light.  We needed that.

Saturday our plans were to wake up and go shopping down on The Boardwalk.  Well, we woke up to a rainy and cold day, so we spent most of the day int the hotel room.  It didn't bother Coop though. He was a happy camper playing in the floor with his toys most of the day.

Saturday night we decided not to get out in the rain, so we stayed at the hotel and ate the buffet and did a little gambling.  I started not to feel real good so I went to bed early.  I couldn't ever get to sleep though because my stomach hurt so bad.  Well, I ended up throwing up all night.  UGH!  It was horrible.  The whole time I was sick all I kept thinking was if I missed my appointment at the spa that next morning, I was going to be so mad! HA!  Well, Saturday morning I wasn't sick anymore, but my stomach still hurt.  I sucked it up though and made it to the spa. It was really nice! I had the most wonderful facial and Becky had a massage.  Afterwards we packed up and headed home.  Well, about 30 minutes into our trip home, Becky started to get sick.  She was throwing up the whole way back, poor thing :(  So needless to say, it was a memorable trip.  LOL!



My Little Valentine

My Valentines Day was perfect because I had this little man as my Valentine :)

I was trying to get a picture of Coop with his Valentine basket looking at me smiling but of course he was way more interested in the basket than smiling at me :)

34 WEEKS

Cooper turned 34 weeks on Thursday!!  Friday we went to Hot Spring to see Dr. Vallery, an ENT, about Coop's multiple ear infections.  He was wonderful!  We really liked him.  He took one look in his ears and knew immediately that he needed tubes.  He said he has what they call glue ear because he has so much build up in there.  Even after being on antibiotics for 20 days, his ears were still infected.  Poor thing :(  He said most kids grow out of having ear infections but the main thing it can do now is cause problems with his speech development. He said he can hear but he what he hears is muffled.  He also said after the tubes are placed to not be surprised if he acts scared because he is going to hear things so much clearer and louder and it can startle him.  Crazy!  So we are scheduled to have it done this coming Thursday.  I'm a little nervous about them having to put him to sleep, but everyone I've talked to has said its a quick and easy procedure, so that has made me feel better.  So pray for us this week that everything goes smoothly! :)

Fun in the Big Tub!

Tonight Cooper took his first bath in the big tub with daddy!  He had so much fun splashing around and  playing with all his toys.  It was so fun to watch :)

Its nice to see Coop in good spirits.  The past 2 weeks has been rough for him.  It all started on January 23rd.  He had been coughing all weekend so I took him into the doctor that Monday.  They said his chest was clear but he had another ear infection.  This made number 3.  They put him on antibiotics for 10 days.  Well, the next Monday he just didn't seem to be feeling better so I took him back in.  Sure enough, it had gotten worse.  He now had a double ear infection.  They had to give him a shot that day and they switched his antibiotic to something stronger.  With him having so many ear infections, we decided to go ahead and make an appointment with an ENT to see if tubes are necessary.  So we go this Friday!  I'm just ready for him to feel better.
